Regulations on Wing Chun ranks and standards conferring procedures

  1. Yun Chun Quan ranks and standards for sportsmen, trainers and referees are conferred for the purpose of their professional and skill development as well as to systematize Yun Chun Quan sports routines and to attract large amounts of people to sports and physical culture. Certification data shall be noted in a sports passport and certified with an appropriate stamp or a public official’s signature.

  2. The right to call a certification committee for conferring categories’ ranks etc. is given to regional departments or representative branches of the All-Russia Yun Chun Quan (Wing Chun) Federation.

    1. To confer 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2 chi ranks for sportsmen, the committee comprises certified trainers with the first dan rank or higher; to confer 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 chi ranks, the committee comprises trainers certified with the second dan rank or higher; to confer 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 chi, the first and the second dan ranks, the committee comprises trainers certified with the third dan rank or higher. The prerogative to confer the third dan rank and higher resides with the Higher Ranks and Categories Conferring Committee under the Presidium of the All-Russia Yun Chun Quan Federation.

    2. To confer the first and second trainer category, the committee comprises trainers certified with the higher trainer category; representatives of physical culture and sport authorities; sport medicine experts. The prerogative to confer the higher trainer category resides with the Higher Ranks and Categories Conferring Committee under the Presidium of the All-Russia Yun Chun Quan Federation.

    3. To confer referee categories (1st category), the committee comprises at least one referee of the national category and one trainer of the first category or higher. The prerogative to confer the national category resides with the Technical Committee of the All-Russia Yun Chun Quan Federation.

  3. Certification periods and frequency shall be set by regional departments and branches of the All-Russia Yun Chun Quan Federation in accordance with the sporting events schedule, but not more than once a quarter or less than once a year. A report shall be drawn up on the certification results with the names of the certificate committee members, the list of certified (with document number) and non-certified persons (with the reason) with the date and signature of the person responsible. One copy of the record, certified with the stamp of a regional department, shall be sent to the All-Russia Yun Chun Quan Federation. Information on the ranks and categories conferred shall be kept in the data-base of the All-Russia Yun Chun Quan Federation. The persons certified shall be given documents of unique design. The exclusive right to issue certificates resides with the secretariat of the All-Russia Yun Chun Quan Federation.
